About the museum:
The museum was established in 2007 and operates on the groundfloor of the City Hall, built in the1920s.
The museum possesses both an archaeological and a paleontological collection. The materials in the archaeological collection originate from sites in Vinodol. The materials from an ancient ceramic workshop that operated in the area known as Ad Turres (which corresponds to present-day Crikvenica) in the 1st and 2nd centuries AD are particularly prominent. The paleontological collection consists of finds from the pit of Vrtara mala, located in Dramalj near Crikvenica, where valuable fossilised remains of Pleistocene animals have been excavated.
The museum organises temporary exhibitions accompanied by various events.
