The Department of Prints and Drawings of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts is a specialised museum institution that deals with the collection, study, preservation and presentation of drawings, prints and posters. The holdings are classified into three collections: the Old Collection (drawings and prints from the 15th to the 19th century); the Collection of 20th and 21st century Prints and Drawings; the Collection of Posters and Matrices. Today the department has about 15,000 inventory entries, of domestic and foreign masters (J. J. Klović, M. Rota Kolunić, M. A Raimondi, H.S. Beham, L.J. Van Leiden, G.J. Caraglio, C. Cort, A. Carracci, G. B. Tiepolo, G. B. Piranesi..., M. Kraljević, M. C. Crnčić, T. Krizman, L. Babić, S. Glumac, A. Krizmanić, A. Kinert, S. Šohaj, M. Šutej, G. Zigaina, R. Canogar, and B. Suhy, for example). Occasional exhibitions from the holdings are organised, as well as exhibitions of domestic and contemporary artists, the Croatian Graphic Art Triennial and the Croatian Drawing Triennial.
