Museum mission
The mission of the Memorial Collection is to present and promote the work of the famed Croatian composer Antun Dobrovnić and the values for which he stood.
The basic idea of the display of the collection is that the exhibited objects should outgrow their material nature and on the principles of contemporary museological practice, generate a number of cultural activities. The collection, with its location on the island of Jelsa, is primarily meant for the local community and therefore has the task of being a core around which high quality cultural events develop. In addition, the collection is meant for the professional public, as a place for the encounter of musicologists, ethno-musicologists, musicians, composers, music students and the general public; it will for many domestic and foreign tourists be an enrichment of the cultural tourism fare in the municipality of Jelsa.
