About the museum:
Križevci Municipal Museum is located in the Karas House, one of the oldest burgher houses in town. Several collections can be viewed in the museum. The archaeological collection preserves objects deriving from a wide time span from the New Stone Age to the High and Late Middle Ages. In the old weapons collection there are various specimens of weapons, both cold steel and firearms. The cultural history collection reflects the life of the middle classes, with its typical fin-de-siècle inventory. Examples of use objects used in rural household on the other hand are collected in the ethnographic collection. In the sacred collection there are Gothic and Baroque sculptures of saints and Torahs. The guild collection represents Križevci in the light of its importance as crafts centre, displaying the rules of the guilds, their seals, notices, tools and the products of the old Križevci tradesmen. In the museum’s courtyard is an ethno-park with traditional architecture structures.
