|About the museum:
The collection is located in the building situated above Volta, the city gate.
The collection encompasses a wide variety of exhibits: ethnographic and art items, tools for different crafts, documents, photographs, library holdings of local relevance, testimonies of intangible heritage, and other items that illustrate the history of Kastav.
Some 700 pieces are exhibited in four rooms. They were collected over the last ten years by residents of the Kastav region and experts from the museum in Rijeka.
The permanent exhibition, revised in 2004, comprises several thematic units: the geography of Kastav and the Kastav region; crafts; items of everyday use; Kastav and the Kastav region from prehistory to the Middle Ages; 19th century social life; labour movement and the National Liberation Struggle.
The items are accompanied by labels with general information in Croatian and English.
