|About the museum:
The Tošo Dabac Archive is an in situ collection with almost 200,000 negatives and more than 2,000 original enlargements, with valuable photographic equipment and a library with newspaper clippings. It is one of the most complete collections of its kind in the world, for it holds the complete oeuvre of Tošo Dabac, one of the most important and versatile Croatian photographers, winner of numerous awards, who exerted a great influence on the development of Croatian photography. The collection is not only of artistic value, but also possess considerable documentary worth, for it tells of the history of Zagreb and our regions. It covers very diverse topics, including portraits, works of art and city life, landscape and folk customs and art. In 2006 Zagreb city bought the collection and confided it to the management of the Museum of Contemporary Art. The Archive was entered into the Register of Cultural Properties of the Republic of Croatia in 2002.
