About the museum:

This gallery, the Ružić Gallery, came into being as a result of the donation of the Croatian artist Branko Ružić (1919-1997), who was born in Slavonski Brod. Ružić gave his city more than 400 works of art, and at his call, more than a hundred Croatian painters and sculptors also gave of their works for this collection. The display was opened in Brod Fortress on June 15, 2004. Complementing Ružić’s pictures and sculptures, the selection of artists constitutes a cross-section of contemporary Croatian art in the last 50 years.
