About the museum:
The museum was founded by the Calculus Citizens Association, in partnership with the Association of Talented Computer Scientists of Rijeka (DIR) and Kreativni Odjel (Creative Department), a multimedia agency. The aim was to create a favourite meeting point for computer enthusiasts, where they could learn and have fun.
The permanent exhibition of this interactive museum -unique in Croatia - displays some 1,000 items: about 300 computers and 700 calculators. Particular attention has been given to the Croatian computer industry and to items directly or indirectly linked with the development of informatics: the development of data storage media, technological meanderings, development of video games and consoles, and other related topics. The museum holdings continue to grow through new acquisitions and donations.
Almost all the exhibited computers function. This allows visitors not only to observe computers, but also to use them, touch them, and experience how computers were used in the past.
The museum features NetCorner, a space decorated as a living room where visitors can access the internet and use computers as if they were at home. It is also possible to scan, copy and print.
Croatian technical literature can be viewed in the reading room, while publications related to computer science can be accessed in the library.
