About the museum:
The permanent exhibition entitled Traditional Sheep Breeding, depicts the process of obtaining and processing wool to the creation of finished products, through photographs, textiles, and different items (tools and wool products).
The project was initiated by the Centre for Sustainable Development Ecopark Gerbin. Sheep breeding was chosen as the framework for the presentation of the island’s heritage. The aim of the project is to grow into a Sheep Breeding Museum. Apart from activities related to sheep breeding, the project also includes an analysis of the island’s intangible traditional heritage.
The exhibition is located in Lubenice, in a former parish house built at the end of the 19th century. The building was converted into the Architectural and Cultural Complex “Dvor”, which, apart from information services, also houses all the themes related to the Sheep Breeding Museum as well as demonstrations and workshops related to traditional sheep breeding.
